Blogger Magomeddibir Magomeddibirov, a native of Dagestan who has been held in an Astrakhan pretrial detention center for over six months, has declared a hunger strike.

The Prosecutor General's Office of Azerbaijan has reopened a previously closed criminal case against opposition journalist Afgan Sadigov. He has been remanded in custody until July 30.

Social media accounts by supporters of Chechen refugee Mansur Movlaev have reported the abduction of his parents, Khava and Movsar Movlaev. They were forcibly taken away to an unknown location in Chechnya.

Journalist Alexei Seregin has been detained in Yoshkar-Ola. He is accused of "justifying terrorism," citing a two-year-old comment about Dzhokhar Dudayev, the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Magomed-Amin Gatagazhev, a native of Ingushetia, remains in custody in Croatia, despite the revocation of the decision to extradite him to Russia at the request of the Prosecutor General's Office. His total detention period exceeds eight months.
