The appeal refused to confirm the sentence handed down on an Ingushetia native for aiding terrorism

The Military Court of Appeal returned the case of the native of Ingushetia Daud Mamilov, who was sentenced to 8 years on charges of involvement in the «Islamic State» (a terrorist organization banned in the Russian Federation). The defendant and the defence were not informed of the trial transcript.

In July 2022, a court in Moscow sentenced Mamilov to eight years of the colony for alleged involvement in the activities of the «Islamic State». The defence has provided sufficient evidence of his innocence. No prohibited objects or literature were found in the house during the searches. He was never mentioned by classified witnesses during the interviews.

In his last speech, Mamilov described the accusations as far-fetched and noted that he insisted on his innocence even when he was tortured and threatened. However, the court found the man guilty of participating in the activities of a terrorist organization and facilitating terrorist activities and sentenced him to eight years' imprisonment.
