Japan imposed sanctions against a number of leaders of Chechnya

The Japanese government has imposed sanctions against 12 Russian individuals and 36 organizations. They included the Kalashnikov and Almaz-Antey concerns, the United Shipbuilding Corporation (USC) and the Tinkoff Bank.

In addition, the sanctions affected the Commissioner for Human Rights in Chechnya Mansur Soltaev, the Chairman of the Government of Chechnya Muslim Khuchiev, the commander of the special police regiment named after Akhmat-Khadzhi Kadyrov of the Ministry of Internal Affairs for Chechnya Zamid Chalaev, as well as Russian businessman Artem Uss - the son of the ex-governor of the Krasnoyarsk Territory Alexander Uss.
