The Orenburg Regional Court has begun hearing the state prosecution's appeal in the 6-million-ruble bribe case involving former senator Rauf Arashukov. The prosecution is seeking to increase the fine for the former official, who was sentenced to life imprisonment, from 120 million to 420 million rubles.

Armenia has been recognized as one of the safest countries in the world, ranking 13th out of 193 in the World Travel Index. The ranking is based on an artificial intelligence analysis of various parameters important to tourist safety.
Tuvalu (a Pacific nation in the southwest Pacific Ocean between Hawaii and Australia) tops the list, followed by primarily smaller countries in Oceania and Europe. Among European countries, Armenia ranks fourth, behind only San Marino, Andorra, and Monaco. Among the post-Soviet states, Armenia ranks first. Georgia and Azerbaijan ranked 26th and 41st respectively.
