Georgian Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze stated that the European Commission has been provided with complete and reliable information on the activities of the Kulevi port, confirming compliance with the sanctions regime. The statement came amid discussions of the 20th EU sanctions package against Russia, which, according to media reports, may include the Georgian port.
Through the blockade of the Lachin corridor and the establishment of a checkpoint, Azerbaijan is seeking ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh and the expulsion of the Armenian population. Armenian Ambassador to Iran Arsen Avakyan said this in an interview with the Iranian edition of Rahborde Moaser.
“Azerbaijan destroys the Armenian heritage, denies its Armenian origin, does not allow the UNESCO mission to the region. Baku is trying to give a religious color to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict, presenting Yerevan as an enemy of Islam and Muslims,” the diplomat commented on the situation. According to him, the Armenian side is ready to establish peace and stability in the region. But this position does not receive a response in Baku: the country continues its aggressive and destructive policy and tries to disrupt the negotiations.
The day before, Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov met with the co-chairs of the monitoring committee of the Parliamentary Assembly of Europe. He said that, despite the provocations of Armenia, Azerbaijan is taking important steps towards ensuring peace and stability in the region, including the signing of a peace treaty.
