Chechnya has the lowest crime rate among the regions of the Russian Federation

Chechnya, Ingushetia and Dagestan have the lowest crime rates among Russian regions, according to the RIA Novosti rating. Thus, in Chechnya the number of crimes per 10 thousand inhabitants in 2023 was only 14.6. In Ingushetia and Dagestan – 40 and 43. Also in the top ten are Adygea, KBR and Karachay-Cherkessia.

The situation is worst in Altai, Karelia and Komi - 209, 210 and 213 crimes per 10 thousand people, respectively.

In total, in the Russian Federation, according to the Ministry of Internal Affairs, just over 1.9 million crimes were registered, which is 1% less than in 2022.
