The Circassians demanded the creation of a national state and the recognition of the genocide by Russia

The members of the United Circassian Council called on the world community to recognize the genocide of the Circassian people by the Russian Empire in the 19th century. They announced this at an international conference in Istanbul.

The organization "Caucasian Union" also took part in the conference. It includes natives of Dagestan, Azerbaijan, Georgia, Chechnya, Ukraine and Karachay-Cherkessia.

The recognition of the genocide by the world community serves to achieve the main goal - the creation of a sovereign state of free Circassia. This was announced by the head of the "Circassian Congress" Kase Kik. In May, in Cherkessk, he was arrested and beaten by security forces after ordering a karaoke song in Ukrainian at a cafe.

There was a group of policemen in the institution, and they began to ask questions: for what reason did he listen to Ukrainian music and whether he was against “our president and the special operation.” Kase Kik replied that he was against the Russian president, and "special operation" is a crime, including against Russia itself and its people.
