Drones attack southern Russia; dozens of flights delayed at Kuban airports

Overnight into October 6, southern Russia was once again targeted by Ukrainian drones. Specifically, the Rostov region, Krasnodar Krai, and Stavropol Krai came under attack. There have been no reports of casualties or damage.

Rostov Governor Yury Slyusar reported that the raid targeted Taganrog, where a drone threat alert was in effect for approximately seven hours. He added that there were no immediate reports of casualties or damage, though information was still being verified.

Dozens of flights are being delayed at airports in the Kuban region due to imposed restrictions. In Sochi, the departures of 12 aircraft are delayed, and four flights to Moscow have been cancelled. A flight from Gelendzhik to the Russian capital was also cancelled. In Krasnodar, 17 departing flights and 10 arriving flights—including international ones—are facing delays.

Additionally, on the morning of October 6, a flight from Moscow to Stavropol was completely cancelled, and delays and cancellations were recorded for other routes to the North Caucasus.

That same night, according to Kyiv, Russian armed forces again used sites in Millerovo (Rostov region), Primorsko-Akhtarsk (Kuban), and the Sea of ​​Azov area to launch drones at Ukraine. Reports indicate that five people were injured in the Zaporizhzhia region, and an educational institution caught fire in Kyiv.

The Moscow region was at the epicenter of the strike on Russia: two people were killed, and nine others were injured.
