A former Dagestani deputy is accused of embezzling 137 million rubles

Kirill Glazov, a former member of the People's Assembly of Dagestan who was stripped of his mandate on February 26, has been arrested on suspicion of large-scale fraud. According to law enforcement agencies, Glazov and his accomplices allegedly embezzled 137 million rubles in budget funds allocated for the purchase of rapid coronavirus testing kits in 2021.

Kirill Glazov is the brother of Dagestan's Minister of Health, Yaroslav Glazov. The prosecutor's office and lawmakers stripped him of his mandate for repeated violations of anti-corruption laws.

In particular, in 2022, Glazov purchased a Toyota Land Cruiser 200 for 4 million rubles, which exceeded his family's combined income. A similar situation arose in 2024, when he declared the purchase of a BMW X7 for 6 million rubles, although the actual cost was 9.8 million rubles. Such understatement of expenses is considered false information.
