Former Chechen Prime Minister Calls for Darwin's Theory to Be Removed from School Curriculum

Darwin's theory of evolution should be removed from school textbooks because it contradicts religious education and contributes to the spiritual decay of children. This was stated by Muslim Khuchiev, assistant to the Prime Minister of the Russian Federation and former head of the Chechen government. He addressed the corresponding proposal to the Minister of Education of Russia Sergei Kravtsov.

"Everyone knows that this is an erroneous theory, it contradicts religion. This is the first step, I believe, in the spiritual decay of children. We can simply remove it. Darwin's theory contradicts religious education, all religions have recognized this. Who else should recognize this in order to remove it from textbooks and not instill it in the consciousness of our children?" Khuchiev said during the first meeting of the All-Russian Parents' Committee.

Charles Darwin's theory of evolution is the concept that all organisms descend from a common ancestor. It emphasizes the naturalistic origin of life with change. Complex creatures evolve from simpler ones, and this takes time. The main driving forces of evolution according to Darwin are hereditary variability, the struggle for existence, and natural selection.
