Preparations are underway to transfer four Crimean Tatar women—accused by Russian authorities of involvement with "Hizb ut-Tahrir," an organization banned in the Russian Federation—from Simferopol to Rostov-on-Don. The Southern District Military Court has extended their detention until March 28, 2027.
Armenia’s National Security Service (NSS) has denied reports regarding the appearance of individuals suspected to be Azerbaijanis in the vicinity of Meghri. The agency stated that reports of the incident and subsequent search operations are untrue.
"This is disinformation. In fact, all this information is false. No such incident has occurred in Meghri. The National Security Service denies the news about Azerbaijanis infiltrating Meghri," the NSS press service stated.
Earlier, the outlet *24 News* reported on three individuals in civilian clothing whom residents of the village of Kuris, in the Meghri district, had spotted at night. Eyewitnesses speculated that the strangers might be Azerbaijanis. According to the report, the three unidentified individuals fled after speaking with local residents.
Subsequently, a search operation involving drones reportedly began in the village and surrounding areas.
It is worth recalling that on October 1, an Azerbaijani serviceman, Nasimi Musayev, illegally crossed the Armenian border and entered the home of a local family in the village of Shaki, in the Syunik region. According to the Armenian Prosecutor General's Office, he opened fire, wounding a 39-year-old woman and causing a broken arm for her 15-year-old son. Musayev was detained and remanded in custody.
Narek Karapetyan, head of the "Strong Armenia" bloc's parliamentary faction, stated that the serviceman should be tried in Armenia rather than handed over to Azerbaijan. He also accused state agencies of failing to take sufficient measures to ensure the safety of residents in border areas. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan did not directly answer journalists' questions regarding the possible handover of Musayev to Azerbaijan.
For its part, Armenia’s National Security Service denied reports that other Azerbaijani servicemen or a sabotage group had entered the country, emphasizing that only Musayev had illegally crossed the border.
