State Secretary of Dagestan dismissed from post

State Secretary of Dagestan Magomed-Sultan Magomedov, recently accused of illegally privatizing the state fuel association Kaspetrolservis, has been officially dismissed from his post. He is under a written undertaking not to leave.

Earlier, the Makhachkala court satisfied the claim of the Prosecutor General's Office against Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and his relatives. The oil company Kaspetrolservis (Dagnefteprodukt), including land plots, buildings and gas stations, as well as two Moscow apartments, were seized from their property.

According to the prosecutor's office, Magomedov received the property as a result of corruption violations. It is alleged that, knowing that the Dagnefteprodukt enterprise was part of federal property, he transformed it into an open joint-stock company. His relatives became shareholders. Mass searches were carried out in Magomedov’s home, place of work, and in the homes of his relatives in Dagestan, Moscow, and St. Petersburg.
