Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that Russia’s restrictions on Armenian exports are calling into question the future of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), saying the dispute could mark “the beginning of the end” for the Moscow-led bloc if it is not resolved soon.
Georgia has blocked the "parallel import" of cars to Russia from the US and Europe
On August 1, the Georgian authorities imposed restrictions on the export and re-export of cars manufactured in the United States to the Russian Federation. From September 26, similar measures will be introduced for cars imported from Europe. These measures are provided for in the 11th package of EU sanctions against the Russian Federation.
According to the National Statistics Service of Georgia, in January-June 2023, the country exported more than 3.7 thousand cars to the Russian Federation for a total amount of more than $52 million.
