Georgian Dream will elect a new party chairman on May 7

The ruling party of Georgia announced that the new chairman of the party will be elected at the congress on May 7. Candidates under consideration have not yet been named.

Let us remind you that the previous chairman of the party in power, Irakliy Garibashvili, resigned on April 25, saying that he no longer sees himself in this post or in politics. At the same time, he does not rule out his return and even the creation of his own party. Garybashvili took part in the activities of "Dream" since 2012, that is, he was at its very origins. During this time, he twice held the posts of prime minister of Georgia and chairman of the party.

In addition to the chairman, "Georgian Dream" has a permanent "honorary chairman" - its founder, oligarch Bidzina Ivanishvili.
