Georgian Doctors Want to Refuse Treatment of Mikhail Saakashvili

Mikhail Saakashvili’s weight decreased from 118 to 62 kilograms at 195 cm. The doctors warned that with the downward trend the situation would become irreversible. Mother of the former President of Georgia Ghiuli Alasania noted that her son’s body often rejects food.
Doctors of the clinic «Vivamed», where Saakashvili is temporarily undergoing treatment, said that he refused the proposed course of treatment and expressed distrust towards the staff. They suggested that consideration be given to transferring the former President to another institution.

Lawyer Shalva Khachapuridze expressed indignation with this approach. "What does it mean to take him to another institution" - is this where? To the colony, to the prison? This will be a death sentence in his condition», said Khachapuridze. Mikhail Saakashvili was transferred from prison to hospital on May 12, 2022.
