Ingushetia ranked among the top three Russian regions for road quality, although residents continue to complain about their condition

Ingushetia ranked third in the RIA Rating ranking of Russian regions for road quality. Residents of the republic regularly complain about the condition of individual roads and have been seeking repairs to problematic sections for years.

According to analysts, 84.2% of public, regional, and inter-municipal roads meet standards. Only Moscow, where all roads meet requirements, and the Chelyabinsk Region, with 84.6%, have a higher rating.

The study also ranked Ingushetia among the regions with the highest density of paved roads. In this regard, the republic is second only to Moscow, St. Petersburg, and Sevastopol.

At the same time, residents of the republic regularly report problems with the road infrastructure. In April, residents of Sunzha appealed to Russian President Vladimir Putin and the head of Ingushetia, Makhmud-Ali Kalimatov, stating that they had been unsuccessfully seeking repairs to a section of the road for several years.

In recent months, several high-profile incidents related to road conditions have occurred in the republic. In late May, a flood of sewer water washed out a road in the center of Malgobek. A criminal case had previously been opened due to the poor condition of the road leading to School No. 3 in the village of Barsuki. In March, residents of the village of Yandare began repairing the streets themselves, citing a lack of response from local authorities.

The study's authors also identified the regions with the lowest road quality ratings. The Arkhangelsk Region, where 17.2% of roads meet standards, Volgograd Region (26.9%), and Kirov Region (28.6%) ranked last.
