Karachay-Cherkessia became a leader in employment growth

In 2023, 14.2 thousand new workers appeared in the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, an increase of 7.2%. In terms of dynamics in the labor market, the region ranks third, behind the Moscow region and Sevastopol, RIA Novosti reports.

The top ten regions of the North Ossetian Federal District also include North Ossetia (seventh place in the Russian Federation with an increase of 6%) and Adygea (eighth place with 5.8%). The remaining republics of the North Caucasus showed more modest results: Dagestan - in 29th place (2.2%), Ingushetia - in 33rd (1.8%), Chechnya - in 43rd (0.9%). The situation is worst in the CBD, which showed negative dynamics in employment - minus 0.6%.

Nevertheless, the North Caucasian Federal District still has the highest unemployment rate. In the fourth quarter, the share of unemployed in Ingushetia was 27.5%, in Dagestan – 12.5%, and in Chechnya – 10.4%.

The leader in the number of employed people is Moscow, where 7.2 million people work. A little more than 4.5 million people work in the Moscow region, with St. Petersburg in third place (3.2 million people).
