The International Committee to Protect Journalists (CPJ) has expressed strong disapproval of the prison terms requested by the prosecutor for nine activists and journalists from Toplum TV, which range from 13 to 16 years. Gulnoza Said, CPJ program coordinator, emphasized that such harsh punishments demonstrate the Azerbaijani authorities' desire to respond to courageous reporting and sow a climate of fear.
The CBI mobiliser was detained on suspicion of transporting explosives
In the Rostov region, Islam M. of Kabardino-Balkaria, previously mobilized for war with Ukraine, was detained on the Rostov-Taganrog highway. In the cabin of his UAZ, the police found six TNT bombs of 400 grams and four TNT bombs of 200 grams, as well as two detonators.
Subsequent examination showed that the total mass of the explosive exceeds 3 kg. For the mobilized explosive is being verified.
