The North Caucasus has the highest rates of driving without compulsory motor third-party liability insurance in the country

The largest number of motorists who have not purchased compulsory motor third-party liability insurance has been identified in the regions of the North Caucasus. This was reported by Kommersant, citing analytical data.

In first place is Ingushetia, where 75% of drivers drive without compulsory motor third-party liability insurance. In Chechnya, the figure is 44%, in Dagestan and North Ossetia - 42% each. At the same time, Ingushetia and Dagestan are among the most accident-prone regions in the country.

For comparison: on average, 7.9% of drivers in Russia will drive without insurance in 2024. Experts associate the refusal to purchase policies with financial difficulties, as well as with the confidence of drivers that they will not become involved in an accident.

A fine of 800 rubles is provided for driving a car without compulsory motor third-party liability insurance. For repeated violations within a year – from 3,000 to 5,000 rubles.
