Activists in Moscow have installed a memorial plaque for the 21st time in honor of Anna Politkovskaya, who was murdered in 2006. The plaque, which reads, "Anna Politkovskaya lived in this house and was vilely murdered on October 7, 2006," has previously been destroyed by unknown assailants. Activists intend to continue restoring it until it remains in place forever.
The organization from Ingushetia was recognized as terrorist
The military wing of Virda (sect) of Batal-Hadji Belkhorov in Ingushetia was recognized as a terrorist organization. This decision was made by the FSB of the Russian Federation.
Anyone who provides financial, information or other assistance to the organizers, managers and members of the organization can now be held criminally liable.
According to the initiators of the ban, the participants of the virda have political and financial influence in Ingushetia and beyond. They have long held positions in local government and worked in business, acquiring serious connections with money.
