Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that Russia’s restrictions on Armenian exports are calling into question the future of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), saying the dispute could mark “the beginning of the end” for the Moscow-led bloc if it is not resolved soon.
Pashinyan blamed Azerbaijan for the humanitarian crisis in Karabakh
The situation in Nagorno-Karabakh continues to escalate, Azerbaijan blocks movement along the Lachin corridor. Prime Minister of Armenia Nikol Pashinyan announced this at a government meeting.
“This has led to a humanitarian crisis in Nagorno-Karabakh. Azerbaijan has used its entire arsenal to make the life of Armenians there impossible,” Pashinyan said. He announced talks between the Foreign Ministers of Armenia and Azerbaijan next week in Washington.
According to him, the Armenian delegation will go to this meeting with the intention to normalize relations and sign a peace treaty as soon as possible based on the principles of sovereignty, reciprocity and equality of the parties.
