Pashinyan Promises Taxation of Armenian Church Commercial Activities

Пашинян пообещал обложить налогами  коммерческую деятельность Армянской церкви

Премьер-министр Армении Никол Пашинян заявил о планах правительства ввести налогообложение для Армянской апостольской церкви (ААЦ). В рамках предвыборной программы правящей партии «Гражданский договор» была представлена инициатива, согласно которой Церковь, как и все граждане, подпадет под систему всеобщего декларирования. 

Пашинян подчеркнул, что налогообложение коснется коммерческой деятельности ААЦ и пообещал, что собранные средства будут возвращены Церкви, а также будут гарантированы социальные выплаты для священнослужителей.
Глава правительства отметил, что эта инициатива продолжает вызывать сопротивление со стороны иерархов ААЦ на протяжении многих лет, так как, по его мнению, Церковь избегает подотчетности перед верующими. В предвыборной программе также предусмотрено реформирование Церкви, включая возможную смену действующего Католикоса Гарегина II, в отношении которого были намеки на пророссийскую направленность со стороны властей.

Отношения между армянскими властями и ААЦ обострились на фоне критики Пашиняном духовенства и его предложений по изменению процедуры избрания Католикоса с увеличением роли государства. В последнее время были арестованы несколько высокопоставленных священнослужителей. Кроме того, под домашним арестом по обвинению в подготовке госпереворота находится российский миллиардер, считающийся ставленником Кремля, Самвел Карапетян, поддержавший церковь.
