Pashinyan Goes Viral on Social Media with Black Beatles Hit

Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan unexpectedly found himself the subject of a viral video. Footage of the head of government driving a car to the popular Black Beatles track by Rae Sremmurd has circulated on social media.

The video quickly garnered millions of views and caught the attention of the artists themselves. The musicians noticed the video and shared it, which further fueled interest. A repost on the band's page garnered over 600 comments and nearly a thousand shares, while the post on the prime minister's account received 1,500 and nearly 12,000 shares, respectively.

Rae Sremmurd is an American hip-hop duo consisting of brothers Swae Lee and Slim Jxmmi, originally from Tupelo, Mississippi. The band gained worldwide fame thanks to the hit "Black Beatles" featuring rapper Gucci Mane: in 2016, the song topped the US Billboard Hot 100 and became one of the biggest viral hits of the year.

A Moscow blogger recorded a video apologising after making offensive remarks about Chechens during a livestream. In the video, he is seen kneeling and addressing the Chechen people:
“I want to sincerely apologise to Chechnya for my words. At the time, I was drunk and said too much, but that is no excuse for my behaviour. I understand that my words could have been perceived as disrespectful to you and to your people, the people of Chechnya. I did not intend to show disrespect, and I sincerely regret what I said. I ask for your forgiveness! I respect you and understand that I should have watched what I said, regardless of the state I was in. This will not happen again on my part,” the blogger said.
