Property worth billions arrested and oil assets confiscated in Magomedov case

FSB reported the seizure of property of former Dagestan State Secretary Magomed-Sultan Magomedov and other persons involved in the fraud case, worth more than three billion rubles. As a result of a joint operation by the FSB, the Prosecutor General's Office and the Ministry of Internal Affairs, the state also returned the previously stolen Dagnefteprodukt oil transshipment complex and the built Dagnotech oil refinery, worth more than 100 billion rubles.

According to law enforcement agencies, Magomedov illegally transferred Dagnefteprodukt to republican ownership and then sold it at a reduced price to persons under his control. The Prosecutor General's Office filed an anti-corruption lawsuit, which was satisfied by the court. In connection with this, a criminal case was opened under articles on fraud and legalization of criminal proceeds. As part of the investigation, 70 searches were conducted, during which valuables and money were seized. Magomedov was previously dismissed from his post due to loss of trust.
