It was planned to hold the celebration at a hotel near Lake Kvareli, where Lavrov's daughter Ekaterina and his son-in-law, an Israeli citizen, businessman Alexander Vinokurov, arrived. The marriage was concluded in Tbilisi.

Protests also continue in the city against Georgia's direct flights to Russia. Salome Zurabishvili announced a boycott of Georgian Airways.
