The Ukrainian President proposed that the US authorities seize Ramzan Kadyrov

Volodymyr Zelenskyy proposed that the US apply the same measures to Chechen leader Ramzan Kadyrov as were applied to Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, in order to "make Putin think twice."

"Here's an example with Maduro. Did they carry out the operation? They did. The whole world saw the results. They did it quickly. Let them carry out the operation against Kadyrov, that murderer. Maybe then Putin will think twice," the Ukrainian leader said.

This statement comes amid reports of the US seizure of a Russian oil tanker linked to Venezuela. The tanker, formerly known as the Bella-1, reportedly evaded the US naval blockade and refused to comply with US Coast Guard requests for inspection.

The US Coast Guard and military forces participated in the seizure operation, with Russian warships and a submarine present near Iceland. The incident marks one of the first times that American forces have successfully attempted to intercept a Russian-flagged vessel.
