US sanctions imposed on Kadyrov's mother and Ombudsman of Chechnya

The United States imposed sanctions against Aimani Kadyrova, the mother of the head of Chechnya, Ramzan Kadyrov. She heads the Akhmat Kadyrov Foundation. Also on the "black list" was the Commissioner for Human Rights of Chechnya Mansur Soltaev.

In addition, the US Treasury added the children's rights commissioners of the Kaluga and Rostov regions and the Artek children's center in Crimea to the sanctions list.

Earlier, President Joe Biden announced new sanctions that are being introduced to "bring to justice those responsible for forced displacements and deportations from Ukraine."
