Previously convicted mercenaries of the Wagner PMC were detained in Dagestan for kidnapping
In Dagestan, participants in the war in Ukraine who had previously been convicted and given amnesty were detained. 39-year-old Bashir Akhmedov and 35-year-old Magomed Piraev are suspected of kidnapping businessman Abdulbasir Baitimirov and embezzling 31 million rubles.
Both accused of kidnapping and extortion were previously convicted of serious criminal charges. In particular, Piraev, a former criminal investigation officer at the Kizilyurt police department, was sentenced to 15 years for hostage-taking, robbery and illegal weapons trafficking.
After the start of the “SVO”, both were released from the colonies, and they took part in the war with Ukraine. After serving for six months, they were amnestied. Both served in the Wagner PMC.
