Armenia's reaction to the release of the "Vesti Nedeli" program has left Russian authorities perplexed
Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Zakharova commented on Armenia's negative reaction to the release of the "Vesti Nedeli" program.

"To be honest, this reaction is puzzling, because we are talking about the statements of a journalist. We have always heard from Yerevan that he is committed to freedom of speech, and even more so, the current Armenian leadership has made this its imperative. This is firstly. And secondly, our official position - not a point of view, but the official position of the state - is well known to Yerevan, we have repeatedly voiced its essence," Zakharova emphasized.

The Russian Foreign Ministry representative also noted that Moscow has a negative attitude towards the EU mission in Armenia, and shootouts continue to occur on the border.

"This is a foreign body for the South Caucasus region. If the mission is so persistently focused on stability, then why is the opinion of a regional player who is vitally interested in improving the situation not taken into account when deciding to extend its mandate?” Zakharova was indignant.

Recall that on January 15, the Russian Ambassador to Armenia was handed a note of protest over the release of the Vesti Nedeli program. According to the document, during the TV program, “artificially generated narratives directed against the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Armenia” were voiced.

Recently, the Armenian government expressed its approval of the extension of the EU mission and the bill to launch the country's accession process to the European Union. It has been sent to parliament for adoption. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan emphasized that Armenia's intention to join the EU must be finally approved through a national referendum.

Experts attribute this decline to the prevalence of cultural and religious restrictions, as well as a preference for low-alcohol beverages.
