Arrested Azerbaijani opposition journalist Afgan Sadigov has been banned from making phone calls and communicating with his relatives. He is currently being held in a pretrial detention facility in the Kurdakhani village of Baku, his wife reported.
Restoration of the Mozdok-Kazimagomed main gas pipeline in Dagestan following a fire may take up to three days. Currently, some residents of Kizilyurt, as well as the Kizilyurt and Khasavyurt districts, are experiencing temporary gas supply interruptions.
Ministry of Internal Affairs officers conducted door-to-door visits to inform residents of the situation. According to available information, there were no injuries.
Reports of the fire were received on the evening of June 9. According to the Ministry of Emergency Situations, a leak occurred on the main gas pipeline between the villages of Bavtugai and Gelbakh in the Kizilyurt district, followed by a flare reaching 15 meters in height. Residents of the villages of Gelbakh and Nizhny Chiryurt in the Kizilyurt district, as well as over a hundred people in Kizilyurt, were evacuated due to the incident.
It took several hours to completely extinguish the gas pipeline fire. The pipeline is currently shut down, but a three-day supply of gas remains.
