The lowest salaries for scientists in Russia are in Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Dagestan

The salary of researchers in Ingushetia, North Ossetia and Dagestan is almost three times less than the average salary in the Russian Federation. These are the data of Rosstat for the first half of 2023.

Thus, in Ingushetia, the salary of scientific workers usually does not exceed 36 thousand rubles, in North Ossetia - 43 thousand, in Dagestan - 50 thousand. These are the lowest figures among all regions of the country. For comparison, the average salary of a researcher in Russia is 120,000 rubles.

In this regard, among the subjects of the North Caucasian Federal District, the situation is best in Stavropol and Chechnya, where the average salary of a scientist is 65,000 and 61,000, respectively.
