Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that Russia’s restrictions on Armenian exports are calling into question the future of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), saying the dispute could mark “the beginning of the end” for the Moscow-led bloc if it is not resolved soon.
Lachin corridor linking Armenia and Karabakh came under Azerbaijani control
Azerbaijan has taken control of the Lachin corridor, the only link between Nagorny Karabakh and Armenia. The Russian side did not react, the peacekeepers were expelled.
Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan said that Azerbaijan’s steps in the Lachin corridor are aimed at ethnic cleansing in Nagorno-Karabakh and total expulsion of Armenians. He stressed in a telephone conversation with EU President Michel the importance of an adequate response of the international community to the actions of Baku that undermine regional security.
Armenia has also brought a case against Azerbaijan before the UN International Court of Justice for the establishment of a CAT in the Lachin corridor.
