Ukrainian drone strikes hit southern Russia and Dagestan overnight

On the night of July 31, residents of Kaspiysk reported explosions near the seaport, which serves as the base for the Caspian Flotilla. Russian authorities have not officially commented on reports of a possible attack on the port. That same night, Ukrainian drones also struck other Russian regions.

According to Ukraine’s Main Intelligence Directorate (GUR), a strike was carried out against the Lukoil-Volgogradneftepererabotka oil refinery. The agency stated that "key elements of the facility's production capacity" were hit. Russian authorities confirmed a drone attack on the Volgograd region, reporting a fire at an industrial facility within the fuel and energy sector. Official figures indicate that five people were injured.

Additionally, media reports and OSINT analysts indicate that Wildberries logistics centers in Volgograd and Zelenodolsk (Tatarstan) were targeted. The company confirmed a hit on the Volgograd warehouse but noted that the facility did not sustain serious damage. In Zelenodolsk, operations at the logistics center resumed following the evacuation of staff.

According to the Russian Ministry of Defense, air defense forces destroyed 371 Ukrainian drones overnight over several Russian regions—including Dagestan and Tatarstan—as well as over the waters of the Sea of ​​Azov and the Black Sea.
