Ukraine supported mass protests in Georgia

President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky supported the participants of protests at the Parliament of Georgia, which also brought Ukrainian flags. " This respect for Ukraine, and I want to express sincere respect for Georgia," he said.
The second day of mass rallies in Tbilisi is an attempt to break into the parliament. People were burning smoke bombs, and the police used water cannons and tear gas. Protesters are building improvised barriers.
The rally participants made two demands: to withdraw the draft law on foreign agents and to release all detainees at yesterday’s rally.
The ruling party considered two variants of the law: the so-called "Georgian" and the American" one. As a result, the Parliament adopted the Georgian version in the first reading. According to it, non-profit entities and mass media will be granted the status of foreign agents if more than 20% of their income comes from abroad; such organizations are obliged to register in this capacity, and in case of refusal they will impose a fine. The opposition believes that the law copies the Russian law on foreign agents and is designed to strengthen political repression.
