Ukraine called on other countries to recognize genocide of Chechen people

The inter-factional association of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine headed by MP Alexey Goncharenko appealed to the parliaments of Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia and Poland. The appellants called for the recognition of Chechnya as occupied, as well as the Chechen genocide».
In October 2022, Ukraine recognized the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria temporarily occupied by the Russian Federation, as well as the genocide of the Chechen people staged by the Russian army during the two wars.
Subsequently, deputies from various parties of the Verkhovna Rada created an inter-factional association "Free Ichkeria". It advocates recognition of the sovereignty of the Chechen Republic and the genocide of Chechens by the Russian authorities.
