A fourth child has died in a drone attack on a beach near Gelendzhik

The death toll from a drone attack on a beach in the resort town of Arkhipo-Osipovka near Gelendzhik has risen to four, according to Maria Lvova-Belova, the Russian Children's Rights Commissioner. Krasnodar Krai authorities previously reported seven fatalities, including three children.

According to Lvova-Belova, three more children remain hospitalized. One has already undergone surgery, while two are undergoing examination for shrapnel wounds.

Meanwhile, Krasnodar Krai authorities have updated the casualty figures. According to the regional task force, 58 people were injured. Twenty-one of the injured, including three children, were hospitalized. Nineteen people were taken to hospitals in Krasnodar, and two more are being treated in Novorossiysk. The remaining 37 injured, including nine children, were treated as outpatients.

A drone crashed onto a beach crowded with vacationers on the afternoon of August 3. Eyewitnesses reported not hearing air raid sirens before the strike.

Following the incident, Krasnodar Krai Governor Veniamin Kondratyev ordered consideration of involving Cossacks in mobile fire teams tasked with intercepting drones.

Meanwhile, the circumstances of the strike itself continue to be debated. Videos published online show gunshots, after which the drone abruptly changes trajectory and crashes onto the beach. Military analysts interviewed by the Agency project have not ruled out the possibility that the drone may have crashed in a crowded area after an attempt by air defense systems to shoot it down. This theory has not been officially confirmed.
