Ingush natives face sentences of over 20 years in the "Gurazhev gang" case

The Southern District Military Court will hear the case of Amir Bokov and Mikail Moshkhoev, natives of Ingushetia, who are accused of assisting the "Gurazhev group," known for its attacks on law enforcement.

According to the Prosecutor General's Office, criminal proceedings have been instituted against these men under eight articles of the Russian Criminal Code, including participation in a terrorist organization, illegal arms trafficking, attempted murder of police officers, participation in an illegal armed group, and others. The defendants face sentences of over 20 years in prison.

Investigators allege that between 2022 and March 2023, in Ingushetia, Bokov and Moshkhoyev swore allegiance to the leader of the Islamic State (an organization banned in Russia), underwent training, and acquired weapons skills for attacks on law enforcement officers.

According to the case file, they carried out three attacks on police officers in North Ossetia and Ingushetia, resulting in the deaths of three officers and the wounding of twelve.

The group of Amirkhan Gurazhev and Adam Ozdoyev became known in 2023 after an alleged attack on a traffic police post, which resulted in injuries to police officers.
In another incident on April 3 of that year, two juvenile affairs inspectors discovered armed men on an abandoned farm. They opened fire on the officers and fled. Later, on April 5, Movsar Kottoyev, a participant in this incident, was found dead in an abandoned house.

During a special operation conducted in March 2024 in Karabulak, several residents of Ingushetia were killed, including Amirkhan Gurazhev. Adam Ozdoyev, who was also wanted, was not found.

More than 30 people have been detained in connection with this case, some of whom have already been sentenced.
