In Azerbaijan, a deported political emigrant went on a hunger strike.

Opposition activist Mutallim Orujov declared a hunger strike in Baku detention centre. He was an active participant in the protests in Germany against the authorities of Azerbaijan, which were held by political immigrants.
Orujov did not receive political asylum and was returned to Azerbaijan. He was sentenced to seven years in prison on drug trafficking charges. The activist began a hunger strike to protest the lack of access to a doctor.
Many political emigrants deported from European countries were imprisoned in Azerbaijan. Before that, they are charged with possession of drugs and other crimes.
