Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has said Yerevan does not rule out taking its dispute with Russia over the management of the South Caucasus Railway to an international court if the issue cannot be resolved through negotiations. At the same time, he stressed that the Armenian authorities hope to settle the matter through talks.
Pre-election fight for the presidency begins in Azerbaijan
The pre-election campaign for the presidential elections in Azerbaijan starts today. Candidates can campaign until February 6.
Seven candidates will compete for the presidency. The main contender is the current President Ilham Aliyev. He will compete with self-nominated candidates Zahid Oruj and Fuad Aliyev, leaders of parliamentary parties Razi Nurullayev, Fazil Mustafa, Gudryat Hasanguliyev and Elshad Musayev.
On February 7, 2024, early presidential elections will be held in Azerbaijan. The corresponding order was signed by Ilham Aliyev. He has been in power since 2003.
