In Baku, a high school student fired a shotgun at a teacher

Around 9:00 a.m. on February 6, in front of the Baku private İdrak Lyceum, located in the Binagadi district of the city, 10th-grade student A. Sh. fired a shot at his teacher Sh. K. with his father's hunting rifle. The Azerbaijani Ministry of Internal Affairs released information about the incident.

The prosecutor's office has opened a criminal case under the relevant article. Local media, citing the Prosecutor General's Office, report that a preliminary investigation is currently underway and the suspect has been detained.

"Prosecutor's office officers are currently inspecting the scene and are carrying out the necessary procedural actions to establish all the circumstances and causes of the incident. The victim received prompt first aid and was hospitalized, and her treatment is ongoing," the Prosecutor General's Office added.

According to Report, the incident occurred during recess, after which classes were canceled. The bullet reportedly struck the teacher in the neck.

The publication reports that the tenth-grader's father, Samir Shirinov, previously held the position of deputy head of the Housing and Public Utilities Department of the Sumgait City Executive Authority and is currently unemployed.
