The number of people injured in a large-scale Ukrainian drone attack on the southern Russian city of Volgograd has risen to nine after rescuers recovered the body of a woman from the rubble of a residential building struck overnight on July 31.
The prosecutor's office of Dagestan reported the initiation of a criminal case against the rector of the Republican State Agrarian University (DSAU) Zaidin Dzhambulatov. He is accused of misappropriation of funds (Part 4 of Article 160 of the Criminal Code) received from the lease of sports facilities owned by the university.
According to the prosecutor's office of Makhachkala, from 2020 to 2025, Dzhambulatov, together with his son-in-law, who held the position of head of administrative and economic work and capital construction at the university, illegally leased sports facilities (football fields, basketball and volleyball courts, a sports complex, and a student sports club) for money. No lease agreements were concluded, and the defendants appropriated the funds received. The total amount exceeded 1 million rubles.
