The Georgian Prosecutor’s Office intends to bring new charges against Aleko Elisashvili, a leader of the "Lelo – Strong Georgia" coalition. According to his lawyers, the politician is set to be charged with contempt of court. The formal presentation of charges is scheduled for July 31.
Georgia held events in honor of Ukraine's Independence Day
In honor of Ukraine's Independence Day, Georgia expressed its solidarity with the country by holding numerous events in different cities.
A march was held in Tbilisi, in which people carried Ukrainian flags along the streets of the city. The culmination of the procession was the unfurling of a huge Ukrainian flag by the participants. Batumi also joined the celebration, organizing a motor rally and a march.
