During the annual "Year in Review" press conference, Russian President Vladimir Putin, responding to a question about support for young families, noted the tradition of early marriages in the North Caucasus. He said he believed this was "right" and suggested "following their example," citing Ramzan Kadyrov's large family.
High-ranking judges detained in Ingushetia
Law enforcement officers detained the chairman of the Magas district court, Magomed Aushev, and the judge of the Supreme Court of the republic, Sergei Boychuk. They are accused of receiving bribes from representatives of the Batalkhadzhin organized crime community in order to give them lenient sentences.
The investigation believes that the bribe was given by businessman Adam Kartoev. He is suspected of giving money, Aushev is suspected of taking a bribe, Boychuk is suspected of obstructing justice and exceeding official authority.
Boychuk was detained in Krasnodar, Aushev in Ingushetia, and Kartoev in Lugansk, Ukraine, where he was engaged in a construction business.
