A court in the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic sentenced two military personnel to prison for deserting their military unit

In Nalchik, a court sentenced Vaisul Karagulov, finding him guilty of leaving his military unit without leave during mobilization. He was sentenced to one year in a general regime penal colony. According to the case file, Karagulov left his duty station without valid reason on September 19, 2025, and was detained by police in Mozdok on October 15. He fully admitted his guilt in court.

Abdulla Umarov, also found guilty of leaving his military unit without leave, received a similar sentence—one year in a general regime penal colony. Umarov left his base in Ingushetia on September 26 and spent a month at his place of residence before reporting to the military investigative department. At the Nalchik trial, Umarov also admitted his guilt.
