Former Georgian President Mikheil Saakashvili stated that the ruling party's signing of a document in support of Ukraine was motivated not so much by fears of an international investigation as by a desire to irritate Russia.
Yerevan is deliberately spreading misinformation that the CSTO did not protect Armenia, this is not true. This was stated by the official representative of the Russian Foreign Ministry Zakharova.
According to her, Yerevan remains in the EAEU, but freezes its presence in the CSTO, "as if these structures are made up of different countries."
"There is pressure from the West, the words of Western officials are apparently reflected in the political rhetoric of Yerevan," Zakharova said.
She claims that "the periodic claims from Yerevan are absurd and do not correspond to the facts, against this background, political dialogue and interdepartmental cooperation with the Russian Federation are limited."
Armenia has frozen its participation in the pro-Russian CSTO bloc, since it creates threats to the security of the country and its continued existence. This was recently stated by Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan at the Second World Armenian Summit. He noted that Armenia is “close to the point of no return” in its relations with the CSTO.
