A repeated complaint about the illegal detention of journalists was filed with the Dagestan prosecutor's office.

Lawyer Shamil Isaev filed a second complaint to the prosecutor's office. He asks that the inaction of the investigation in relation to the investigation into the detention of journalists of the Chernovik publication and the Novoye Delo newspaper, Magomed Magomedov and Idris Yusupov, respectively, be declared illegal and unfounded. This was reported by the Memorial Human Rights Protection Center.

On January 16, in Makhachkala, Magomedov and Yusupov went out on single pickets in support of convicted political prisoner-journalist Abdulmumin Gadzhiev and Caucasus historian Khadzhi-Murad Donogo, persecuted by the authorities. The picketers were detained and kept in the police station for several hours without any protocols being drawn up.

Magomed Magomedov filed a complaint with the court alleging illegal actions of the police, but the claim was rejected. Yusupov’s application submitted to the duty station was not considered. His lawyer Shamil Isaev filed a complaint with the prosecutor's office, but it was also rejected.
