In North Ossetia it was recommended not to wear a niqab

The Main Spiritual Administration of Muslims in North Ossetia recommended that believers refuse to wear the niqab. This was announced by the Deputy Mufti of the Republic Ibrahim Dzagurov.

Earlier, the Muftiate of Dagestan issued a fatwa on a temporary ban on wearing the niqab. Islamic theologians said that sanctions for failure to comply with orders from the clergy do not apply. The question of following or not following fatwas “remains on the conscience and level of fear of God of each believer,” noted the Muftiate of Dagestan.

Then the Spiritual Administration of Muslims of Karachay-Cherkessia banned the wearing of the niqab - until the identified threats were eliminated and a new theological conclusion was reached. This was announced by the head of the Muslim Spiritual Directorate of the Karachay-Cherkess Republic, Chairman of the Coordination Center for Muslims of the North Caucasus (KCMSC) Ismail Berdiev.
