Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan has warned that Russia’s restrictions on Armenian exports are calling into question the future of the Eurasian Economic Union (EAEU), saying the dispute could mark “the beginning of the end” for the Moscow-led bloc if it is not resolved soon.
In the North Caucasus Federal District, 20% of elevators in apartment buildings require urgent replacement
According to a study by Strategy Partners, at the beginning of 2025, 20% of elevators (2,800 out of 10,700) in the North Caucasus Federal District (NCFD) had reached the end of their service life.
The problem is most acute in Dagestan (29% of elevators require replacement) and Karachay-Cherkessia (39%). Ingushetia is in the best position: all 246 elevators meet safety requirements.
The departure of Western manufacturers and service companies has created problems with the supply of spare parts, which are currently being addressed through parallel imports from China, Turkey, and the EAEU.
In 2025, 20,000 elevators are planned to be replaced across Russia, and by 2030, this figure will increase to 25,000 units.
