The US called for the release of the Azerbaijani opposition.

The US is deeply concerned that Azerbaijani activist Bakhtiyar Hajiyev remains in detention and continues to face politically motivated charges. This was reported by a representative of the State Department.
The United States called for the speedy release of Hajiev and all those imprisoned for exercising their fundamental freedoms, summarized in the State Department.
On February 10, Bakhyar Hajiyev was hospitalized from Baku SIZO-1 to a medical facility of the Penitentiary Service. He continues to refuse food and treatment. The weight of the activist decreased from 84 to 68 kg.

On 21 January, the arrest was extended for another month. International human rights organizations called on the Azerbaijani authorities to release the activist.
