Azerbaijani authorities remind Armenia again of the need to amend the Constitution

The Azerbaijani Foreign Ministry, commenting on the results of President Ilham Aliyev's visit to Washington, emphasized that Baku will not sign a peace agreement with Armenia until Yerevan amends its Constitution to exclude any territorial claims against Azerbaijan.

In addition, Azerbaijan expects the OSCE to decide to dissolve the Minsk Group.

The improvement of relations with the United States due to the abolition of Section 907 is considered a positive factor, and Baku hopes for further cooperation with its American partners. In general, President Aliyev's visit to Washington, according to Azerbaijani Foreign Minister Jeyhun Bayramov, has brought relations between the two countries to the level of strategic partnership.

The Minister said that the Joint Declaration signed in Washington specifically emphasizes unhindered communication with Nakhchivan, which is an integral part of Azerbaijan.

"To this end, the Zangezur Corridor (Trump Road), which will be implemented on the territory of Armenia, will ensure the internal unity of Azerbaijan and regional economic integration. This project will also expand regional trade and transport opportunities," Bayramov added.

Billionaire and former Nagorno-Karabakh state minister Ruben Vardanyan, sentenced in Baku to 20 years in prison, rejected the legal force of the ruling and dropped his appeal. His family explained that this decision stemmed from the fact that, in their view, the trial was a "staged performance" rather than a proper trial: the hearings were held behind closed doors, without access to independent observers, and the prosecution's motions were ignored. The full text of the verdict was also not released.
